Gabriel Pec would equal Javier Hernández with transfer to LA Galaxy
The Major League Soccer club are in talks with Vasco da Gama for the Brazilian attacker.
The Los Angeles Galaxy are very close to announcing their first big signing ahead of the start of the 2024 Major League Soccer season. The Galaxy are finalising talks with Vasco da Gama for Brazilian striker Gabriel Pec.
The transfer is set to be in the region of $10 million and would be the most expensive signing in the club’s history. The record has been held by Mexican striker Javier Hernández when the MLS side paid around $10 million to Sevilla for his services in January 2020.
Pec’s numbers
Pec would arrive as a franchise player to bolster the Galaxy’s attack. With Vasco da Gama, the 22-year-old forward made 178 appearances in all competitions, scoring 26 goals and 14 assists.
Interest in Pec
The 22-year-old is coming off the back of an outstanding season in the Brazilian league and attracted the interest of several teams in different leagues around the world. It was the Galaxy that most attracted Pec, another sign that Major League Soccer is becoming an ideal destination for players around the world.
