Galatasaray to initiate criminal proceedings against Jose Mourinho

Monday’s Istanbul derby ended goalless as Galatasaray maintain their six point grip at the top of the Turkish league.

As is always the case, the game was played with a backdrop of tension after Fenerbahçe recently accused their city rivals of destroying Turkish football with a post on social media claiming that Galatasaray had: “illicit connections with the press and made insincere statements that keep deceiving the public”. The post concluded stating: ”Thanks to you, there is no justice left in Turkish football”.

After the derby, Fenerbahçe’s Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho complained (not for the first time) about the level of match officiating with the comments not going down well with Cim Bom Bom with Galatasaray issuing a heavy hitting statement:

“Since the commencement of his managerial duties in Türkiye, Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho has persistently issued derogatory statements directed towards the Turkish people.

Today, his discourse has escalated beyond merely immoral comments into unequivocally inhumane rhetoric. We hereby formally declare our intention to initiate criminal proceedings concerning the racist statements made by Jose Mourinho, and shall accordingly submit official complaints to UEFA and FIFA. Furthermore, we shall diligently observe the stance adopted by Fenerbahçe—an institution professing to uphold “exemplary moral values”—in response to the reprehensible conduct exhibited by their manager."
