Christophe Galtier sacking imminent, who will take over at PSG?
Failure in Europe has ultimately cost the man from Marseille his job, despite winning the Ligue 1 title.
In France, Le Parisien are reporting that PSG head coach Christophe Galtier has been sacked. The club’s sporting advisor Luís Campos has informed Galtier that he is no longer in charge at the Parc des Princes.
Failure in Europe has ultimately cost the man from Marseille his job, despite winning the Ligue 1 title. Foot Mercato and L’Équipe report that Julian Nagelsmann will replace Galtier in the French capital. With Galtier’s two-year deal being terminated a year before it was due to run out, Nagelsmann is expected to arrive in Paris within the next 24 hours in order to continue negotiations with the club.
Henry at PSG
Former Bayern boss, Nagelsmann, 35, was sacked by the Bundesliga champions and could return to work alongside France legend Thierry Henry. Henry has been linked with the assistant manager role at PSG and the pair recently met to discuss the possibility of taking over together. The former Arsenal forward has experience as an assistant coach, having served as Roberto Martinez’s number two with the Belgium national team.
Nagelsmann over Luis Enrique
It appears that Nagelsmann has won out over Luis Enrique in Doha. Although there was some optimism in Qatar regarding the Asturian’s appointment, Nagelsmann, who wants to join PSG, has the managerial profile that tips him in favour of the Spanish coach.
