Gambia vs Uruguay: as it happened
FT: Gambia 0-1 Uruguay
It finishes 1-0 to Uruguay in Santiago del Estero. The goal came from Anderson Duarte in the second half. The No 7 let fly from outside the area for what was the difference between the sides. The Uruguay supporters can stay in Argentina for a little while longer!

La Celeste will take on the USA in the quarter-finals on Sunday after securing their place in the last eight in Argentina.
Uruguay are through to the quarter-finals!
It's heartbreak for the Gambia!
The final whistle goes!
The South American side take it into the corner.
Uruguay lead with two minutes left on the clock!
The second corner is headed away!
It's driven to the near post and goes out for another corner.
The Gambia have a corner...
Sanyang!
His effort from 20 yards is straight at Rodriguez in the Uruguay goal.
There will be SEVEN additional minutes played!
The ball is sent into the Uruguay box, but the flag eventually goes up for offside.
With three minutes to go, Uruguay are holding on to their slender lead!
Bajo, who plies his trade with Granada in Spain, can't hit the target from range.
Franco Gonzalez!
It's another glorious chance for Uruguay to put the game to bed, however, Gonzalez sends his shot wide of the far post.
This will go to extra time and penalties if required.
After three group games and almost 90 minutes here, the Gambia side look shattered.
OFF Haruna Rasid Njie
ON Muhammed Sawaneh
Saine shoots but it's well over. He'll be disappointed with that effort as his team look to get back into the game. We're into the last 10 minutes of normal time.
La Celeste are ahead but they're looking to double their advantage. The winner will play the USA on Sunday.
Uruguay clear the Gambia corner that's sent in from the left.

With the Gambia now looking to attack more, Uruguay have been able to exploit the space left in behind. That second goal could be coming.
Uruguay are about to make a couple of changes.
Duarte is picked out at the back post and his overhead-kick goes over the bar. He's in a confident mood after that golazo.
The Gambia have it all to do, but there is time for them.

URUGUAY HAVE THE LEAD!
Gooooooooaaaaaaalll!!!
DUARTE!!!
The Gambia topped Group F, picking up seven points from their three games.
They finished above South Korea in second place, France (third) and Honduras (fourth), who both exited the tournament.
The winner of this one will play the USA in the quarter-finals.

The sides are about to make some changes as they look to break the deadlock here in northern Argentina.
There have been more chances but they haven't been converted!
JAWARA!
He skies his effort at the back stick after a good left-wing cross from Sanyang.
The finishing in the final third has been poor.

De los Santos!
Oh, what a miss! Gonzalez squares it for him, and with the whole goal gaping, he somehow puts it wide!
Uruguay finished second in Group E, behind group-toppers England.
Their group opener was a 4-0 win over Iraq. They followed that up with a 3-2 defeat to England and a 1-0 win over Tunisia.
Fabricio Diaz, Uruguay's captain, is down getting treatment after a clash.
With 20 players on the pitch instead of 22, there will be extra space for both sides, who are playing in Santiago del Estero for the first time. 0-0
It has been cagey and will need extra time if the sides can't be separated in the 90 minutes.
Ponte has 3 goals in 34 appearances for Uruguay
Mateo Ponte glides through and gets into the box, before squaring it, but the Gambia defence manage to deal with the threat.
Colley, not for the first time today, has a pop from outside the area. This one is also pulled wide. 0-0
Haruna Rasid Njie strikes from distance. It's a long way out and it's also quite comfortable for Rodriguez between the sticks.
The sides are here for a place in the quarter-finals. They have both been reduced to 10 men and it remains 0-0.
And we're back underway!
The sides are back out for the second half.

There's the whistle for half-time!
After a dull opening 35 minutes, it has come to life here!
Both sides are down to 10 men!
Uruguay's Rodriguez has been sent off for using his elbow to get away from Sanyang!
It's now going to VAR...
There could be a red here!
Sanyang and Rodriguez are both booked for a tussle together.
The Gambia go up the other end and Sanyang has a good shot saved by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez!
Again, another effort from distance that doesn't trouble the keeper. Rodriguez places it down the middle and Dampha easily saves.
Dampha now plays it straight to Durate, who is through on goal, but gives it back to the keeper! It's a tame effort that hits Dampha.
A goal before the break could really open this game up.
Colley has a go for the Gambia from way out. He puts too much curl on it and it's wide of goal.
The ball is whipped in from the right. De los Santos gets in front of his man but the ball flies off him and goes out for a goal-kick. You couldn't even call that a half-chance.
It's been a very tight affair in northern Argentina despite Uruguay having the extra man.
Garcia is booked
He gets the yellow for a foul on Colley.

There is one African nation already through to the last eight. Nigeria stunned the hosts Argentina yesterday, winning 2-0.
For such a small nation, it's quite incredible how Uruguay continues to produce some of the world's top talent.
No doubt, new senior team coach Marcelo Bielsa will be keeping a close eye on this U-20 team.
De los Santos crosses from the left wing. It's cleared away, just as the sun moves away on us. 0-0
Rasid Njie!
His effort from 25 yards is always rising and sails over, but why not have a go?
The Gambia are set up in a 4-4-1 formation out of possession as they come to terms with having 10 men.
Just as the sun comes out, Gonzalez spots Dampha off his line, and he goes for an ambitious one from just past the half-way line. It goes over the bar, but what a goal that would have been!
Matturro gets in behind on the left for Uruguay. He sends in a low cross without much pace and Dampha comes off his line to collect.
Gambia have scored four goals at this tournament, topping their group with seven points from three games.
It's been a cagey start here. It happened yesterday too. Colombia and Slovakia were drawing 0-0 at half-time and the South Americans went on to win 5-1!
So Mbye, who has been sent off, is the oldest member of the Gambia squad, but he didn't show much maturity with that studs-up tackle.
Diaz sends the Uruguay corner in from the left, with his right. Dampha comes off his line to claim it. 0-0
How will that change Gambia's formation? Uruguay will have the upper hand and will look to take full advantage of that.
Gambia now have to play for just under 75 minutes with 10 men. Disastrous start!
He walks off the field for a nasty challenge on De Los Santos and he'll miss the last-eight match if his side advance.
Mansour Mbye has been SENT OFF for Gambia!
It's the first time both sides have played here in Santiago del Estero. Their respective group games took place elsewhere in Argentina.
Diaz whips the corner in from the right. The set-piece is directed towards the 18-yard line and is eventually cleared.
Diaz's central free is low and easily dealt with. It remains 0-0 as we've had no clear-cut chances thus far.
Durate goes on a mazy run down the right flank and tries to get through the Gambia defence but is eventually stopped.
Neither side has really settled. It's also worth noting that this will go to penalties if needed.
The ball falls to Rodriguez about 25 yards from goal. His effort trickles towards goal. It's a very tame effort.
Bajo plays a line-breaking ball through the middle but it ends up in Rodriguez's hands. It's been a slow start with that early Rodriguez fall, but he is since back on his feet.
Uruguay are playing from right to left in an all-white kit. Gambia are in red and blue today.
The Liverpool player is getting some attention now. That is Liverpool in Uruguay in case you were wondering.
Rodriguez is down inside 15 seconds. There is a follow through and he's caught.
We're underway!
Uruguay finished second in their group and will be hoping to advance to the last eight in front of their fans in attendance.
Gambia are set to play in a 4-2-3-1. Let's see how that evolves.
