Gavi and Musiala display their talent ahead of World Cup in Qatar
On Wednesday, the pair will meet when Barcelona take on Bayern in the Champions League.
Gavi and Jamal Musiala have been making headlines in recent weeks. Both were nominated for the Kopa Trophy and the Golden Boy award. Gavi won both trophies, much to the annoyance of Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann, who said: “Musiala and Bellingham have had better seasons than Gavi”. Alphonso Davies, Bayern’s left-back, also complained: “You may have been denied the Kopa, Jamal”.
Musiala belongs to a team that is still a winning machine, quite the opposite of Barça. Musiala has already won three Bundesligas, a Champions League, a European Super Cup, and a Club World Cup. And he is also a regular with the Germany national team. Gavi is already a key part of the setup at Barça, where he has played in 62 of the 66 matches he has been available for. He only missed two matches due to suspension and two due to Covid with the Spain national team. The La Masia graduate recently renewed until 2026. Musiala’s Bayern contract also runs until 2026.
Barcelona vs Bayern Munich
Tonight, the two wonderkids will cross paths on the pitch at Camp Nou when Barcelona take on Bayern in the Champions League. It will not be the last time this year as Spain and Germany meet on 27 November in the World Cup.
