Guardiola called a “pathological liar” for his comments on United’s 1999 UCL win
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola said he was a “little boy” when he watched Manchester United in the 1999 Champions League, but the math says otherwise.
I am neither a mathematical expert nor a great judge of when children stop being considered children, but I would say that by 28, I would certainly not refer to a person as “little boy”. But that’s just me.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, however, used just those words to describe himself in 1999 and people are calling him out as a “pathological liar”. Here’s what Pep said:
“Look at United. It was once in the lifetime in the UK, one team, it was United, the way they won against Bayern Munich in Camp Nou. I was there as a little boy.”
Guardiola is 52 years old, which would have made him 28 years old in 1999 - hardly “a little boy”, but let’s just say he felt like a little boy compared to where he is now...maybe? Or a bad translation? No, the social media people are not accepting that.
Which one is the little boy in this photo? If you guessed the one on the left, guess again!
Anyway, Guardiola was speaking about Manchester City’s chances of winning a historic treble, which is not so easy to do. He said he would not think about it until he’s won two of the three. As of now, they’ve won the Premier League title, but still have the FA Cup Final against United to play on June 3 and the Champions League final against Milan in Istanbul on June 10.
