Guatemala or Honduras to face Argentina ahead of 2024 Copa América
The world champions will play two preparation matches in the United States before the Copa América. Guatemala and Honduras are being cited as possible rivals.
Argentina are set to defend their Copa América title in the United States next summer with Albiceleste captain Leo Messi doing his bit to boost the profile of the sport in the US after his move to MLS side Inter Miami last summer.
The Argentine FA are working on the pre-tournament planning and are lining up two friendly matches on US soil before the start of the tournament which kicks off on 20 June.
Sources close to ‘The Athletic’ have hinted that Argentina will play these two games in Chicago and Maryland with exact dates and opponents yet to be locked down but the suggestions are that Argentina would face Ecuador at Soldier Field in the Windy City and Guatemala or Honduras could be their rival at FedEX Field.
