After having a good World Cup campaign in Qatar, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa left Mexican soccer again and emigrated to Italy to play for Salernitana who, every week, have the same objective: to stay in the division. Since he arrived, the Club América youth player has raised his level and is performing brilliantly during his first spell in Serie A.

Last Sunday, the Mexican played at home against Torino, drawing 1-1, but it was Ochoa who saved the team with a fabulous performance. After the match, the Mexican appeared for the second consecutive week in the best XI of the week, presented by Serie A this Monday.

The Mexican is in the lineup alongside Pierre Kalulu, Roger Ibáñez da Silva, Josh Doig and Danilo, who make up the back line. The midfielders chosen are Teun Koopmeiners, Patrick Ciurria, Federico Chiesa and Darko Lazović, while up front are Victor Osimhen and Tammy Abraham.

A few days ago, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa reiterated his intention to reach the World Cup in 2026 but he knows that the competition with young goalkeepers will be tough. The Mexican National Team will not return to action until March, when it will face the Surinamese national team in the CONCACAF Nations League.
