Guillermo Ochoa dropped to the Salernitana bench
With Luigi Sepe back, coach Davide Nicole opted for the Italian over Ochoa.
Guillermo Ochoa has been dropped to the bench for today’s Serie A clash between Verona and Salernitana. The Mexican goalkeeper will make his first substitute appearance for Salernitana after Luigi Sepe, the first-choice keeper before Ochoa’s arrival, recovered from injury.
Salernitana head coach Davide Nicole made the decision this morning ahead of releasing the Salernitana line-up for the matchday 22 Serie A fixture. Ochoa arrived at the club in January to cover for Sepe’s absence, however, beyond the good performances of the Mexican goalkeeper, the team have not achieved results to keep them away from the relegation zone.
Serie A six-pointer
Salernitana and Verona play in what is a crucial game for both teams as the Salerno team sit in sixteenth place in the standings with 21 points, while the Verona team is in the relegation zone in eighteenth place with 14 points.
