Guillermo Ochoa makes Serie A best XI of the week
After his strong performance against Inter, the Mexican goalkeeper was recognized along with his peers in the Italian top flight.
Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa continues to showcase his talent in Serie A with Salernitana, as he once again played a pivotal role in his team’s draw against Inter Milan this weekend. The Guadalajara native received recognition for his outstanding performance and has been included in the best XI of Italian football.
According to the SofaScore statistics website, Ochoa, who started his career with Águilas del América, was ranked 11th due to his impressive performance against the Milan club in matchday 29 of Serie A. The Mexican goalkeeper received a rating of 8.8, which was the highest for keepers.
Guillermo Ochoa was not the only footballer to receive this accolade, as Leonardo Sernicola of Cremonese also achieved the same rating. Additionally, the Transfermarkt portal included the Mexican goalkeeper in its best XI of the weekend, with 60 votes from the candidates, making him the player with the most votes in this category.
Since his return to the European game, Ochoa has been one of Salernitana’s best players and has been recognized by Serie A for his outstanding performances. Furthermore, he is still being considered for the Mexican national team and played in the team’s recent match against Jamaica in the Concacaf Nations League.
