Haaland shopping at Sainsbury’s goes viral as photo of Man City striker posted on Twitter

The Norwegian goalscorer was spotted at the British supermarket chain, unleashing a wave of comments on social media.

Update:
The Norwegian goalscorer was spotted at the British supermarket chain, unleashing a wave of comments on social media.

Erling Haaland’s stunning performances over the past few years led to his recent massive move to Manchester City, who managed to nab him despite the interest of other European soccer giants such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, among others. The Norwegian striker came in from Borussia Dortmund to join up with City’s star-studded squad, which are still searching for their first Champions League title despite the massive outlay on talent over the past 10 years.

The Norwegian striker is already in England, and is enjoying Man City’s superb facilities, as he acclimatizes to a league that’s notably different from the Bundesliga, as well as English culture. As he settles in Haaland has been spotted out and about, visiting a number of places in Manchester and has even been spotted out and about doing his shopping at a supermarket.

Journalist Tom Young posted the image to his Twitter account, where Haaland can be seen in British supermarket Sainsbury’s, with a full trolley and accompanied by several friends. Of course the eagle-eyed users of the social media platform decided to cast a beady eye over his trolley and see what he was buying...

One fan though pointed out that posting photos of people doing shopping is a bit odd. A normal everyday activity that maybe doesn’t actually need to be examined on social media (or in newspaper articles), but then famous strikers are... famous, and people are desperate to know what they are up to, even if it’s just picking up some food.

Fans amused at Haaland’s ketchup purchase which could upset Pep Guardiola

One fan spotted the big bottle of tomato ketchup Haaland had popped in his trolley and noted that Man City coach Pep Guardiola was unlikely to be happy with that dietary decision, given how much sugar can be found in standard ketchup.

Other commentators used the situation to joke about the rumors that Haaland could still end up at Real Madrid...
