Haaland’s on fire

Ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, let’s take a look at what Erling Haaland accomplished just last week.

Manchester City will visit Borussia Dortmund for the Champions League Group G stage match 5/6. All eyes will be on City striker Erling Haaland, who not only visits his old club for the first time since the trade this summer, but also has had a monster season so far.

Just last week (October 17-23), Haaland played 80 minutes and scored two goals on two shots with 33 touches. He is the first Manchester City player to score in seven consecutive home games in all competitions since Sergio Agüero in 2018. Haaland has the highest differential between expected goals and goals across Europe’s top five leagues, scoring 6.2 more times than predicted.

The record for most competitive goals in a Premier League season is 44 and Haaland is already halfway to that total. He already has 157 total goals and he’s not even 23 years old yet. To put that in perspective, before the age of 23, Cristiano Ronaldo had netted 53, Lionel Messi 80, and Kylian Mbappé 131.

Here’s how you can watch Haaland in the Champions League match against former team Dortmund tonight at Signal Iduna Park. On Saturday, October 29, City face Leicester in a Premier League matchup at King Power Stadium.
