Hansi Flick has already alerted Barça fans that he expects to shuffle his team for Sunday’s match against Leganés at Montjuïc (9pm).

Without going into detail, the German made it clear that the team needed fresh legs and that he would have to rest some players. The coach will also be conscious of final test of the year just around the corner as the Catalan side take on in-form Atlético Madrid next week.

Sunday’s game could herald the return of Ronald Araújo, with the Uruguayan now fit again after a lengthy lay-off from a hamstring injury. Araujo may even start the game and give Pau Cubarsí some respite with the teenager having played 23 games this season already.

Dani Olmo is another candidate set to be rested with Flick also concerned about the former RB Leipzig man’s playing time as he still wrestles with muscular issues.

Iñaki Peña will start in goal again as Szczęsny still waits patiently to make his Barça debut. Araújo (if he starts) will pair up with Íñigo Martínez with Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde on the wings. In midfield, Marc Casadó will start with Pedri and it appears that Gavi could start ahead of Fermín,

Despite possible rotation issues hanging over Raphinha, everything points to Flick starting with his tried and tested trident Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal and the Brazilian with a ‘hungry shark’ in the shape of Ferran Torres waiting to make an impact from the bench with striker from Valencia buoyed following his midweek brace against Dortmund in the Champions League.
