Harry Kane’s record against Arsenal: goals, appearances, wins
By scoring in Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Arsenal, former Spurs idol Kane has added to his fine goal record against the Gunners.
Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane was on target against Arsenal on his return to North London, netting a first-half penalty that added to the excellent scoring record he had enjoyed against the Gunners during his time with Tottenham Hotspur.
After Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal an early lead in today’s Champions League quarter-final first leg, Bayern turned the scoreboard on its head before half time. Serge Gnabry levelled with a goal against his former club, before Kane sent goalkeeper David Raya the wrong way with a coolly taken spot-kick.
Late in the second half, however, Arsenal substitute Leandro Trossard restored parity at the Emirates, stroking home a precise drive as the game finished 2-2.
How many goals has Kane scored against Arsenal?
Kane’s 39th goal for Bayern this season, the penalty took his career tally against Arsenal to 15 in 20 games. According to Opta, only two clubs - Leicester City (20) and Everton (16) - have conceded more goals to the England captain.
What’s more, Opta notes, the 30-year-old’s six career goals at the Emirates Stadium are the most by a visiting player at the ground. Before today’s game, Kane had been level with Diogo Jota and Jamie Vardy.
“Motivated” Kane out to hurt Arsenal - Tuchel
Speaking ahead of the Germans’ visit to the UK capital, Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel had backed Kane to respond to a hostile Emirates reception by adding to his total at the stadium.
“He has thrived on [the Arsenal fans’ taunts] many times now so I don’t think he will stop tomorrow,” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference yesterday. “I think it’s very enjoyable for Harry to be here against Arsenal in the quarter-final of the Champions League.
“I think it will make him very happy to score. I don’t see anything holding him back. I feel he is very motivated.”
What is Kane’s win record at the Emirates?
Despite his record scoring figures at the Emirates, Kane has rarely tasted victory on the road against Arsenal.
In his 10 career appearances away to the Gunners, his only victory so far was Tottenham’s 2-1 EFL Cup quarter-final win in December 2018. During his time with Spurs, he was on the losing side at Arsenal five times in nine games.
When do Arsenal and Bayern meet in the second leg?

The teams face off at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday 17 April 2024, with kick-off in Bavaria scheduled for 3pm ET/12 noon PT.
