Barcelona have registered Jules Koundé with La Liga, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic, and will be available to face Real Valladolid on Sunday.

The Blaugrana were able to register new signings Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessié before their opening game of the season against Rayo Vallecano.

Koundé's registration will allow head coach Xavi Hernández to play his strongest side as his squad continues to gel.

Koundé features in friendlies

Koundé has played for Barca against Mexican side Pumas in the Gamper Trophy at Camp Nou and in the charity match against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Wednesday.

Barcelona have struggled to register players due to economic uncertainty at the club and issues surrounding LaLiga’s salary cap.

Umtiti leaves Camp Nou

Fellow French defender Samuel Umtiti left the club on Thursday to join Serie A side Lecce on loan until next summer. There is no option to buy included in the deal for the centre-back, who has had a tough spell at the club.

Barcelona have reportedly reduced some add-ons from current players’ contracts in order to facilitate Koundé’s registration.

The highly-rated 23-year-old, who was also linked with a move to Chelsea, joined the Camp Nou outfit from Sevilla last month.
