Hectic end to transfer window awaits Barça
Barça are still under pressure to sell players with new signing Jules Koundé still not registered to play and an exit for Aubameyang key to any further acquisitions.
Although it has been a crazy summer for FC Barcelona with the Catalan club making signings that seemed impossible with the likes of Lewandowski, Koundé and Raphinha joining the club, Barça still face a frantic few days before the market closes and give Xavi that competitive squad he dreamed about ahead of the summer. At present, selling players is a key priority for the club as French defender Jules Koundé still not registered with LaLiga. For the French international to be able to play on Sunday against Valladolid, Barça must generate 20 million euro from player sales with Aubameyang and Memphis Depay poised to join Chelsea and Juventus respectively. Difficulties have appeared in the talks between all parties with pressure on the Camp Nou side to get these deals resolved before the deadline as the French center-back can leave on a free should Barça fail to complete his LaLiga registration on time.
Other potential departures at Barcelona are Sergiño Dest (who is digging his heels and not keen to leave), Umtiti and Braithwaite. These marginal sales could also open salary mass and propel the signings of Juan Foyth and Marcos Alonso with both Héctor Bellerín and Javi Galán cited as alternatives to Foyth and Marcos.
Silva acquisition unlikely
As things stand, the Barcelona board are resigned to the fact that it appears unlikely that Bernardo Silva will be pulling on the azul-grana shirt this season with the player admitting that his dream to play at Camp Nou will have to wait. An acquisition for the City player would also see the need for the club to sell Frenkie de Jong, with the Dutch player having started in both LaLiga games for Xavi and impressed as part of Barcelona’s 1-4 win on Sunday at the Real Arena.
