Hierro expected to be unveiled at Chivas next week with Bordalas cited as new coach
The Spaniard and the Liga MX club have practically tied up a deal and Hierro is expected to be unveiled as new Sporting Director early next week.
After Chivas poor showing in the 2022 Apertura culminating in elimination at Puebla last Sunday, the board of directors felt that it was time Sporting Director to move on with Ricardo Peláez with the 59-year-old released from his position earlier this week.
Chivas are now looking for a successor to the former Mexican international with a deal set to be imminent with Spaniard Fernando Hierro. Well connected David Medrano reported that the deal to bring the former Real Madrid captain to Guadalajara is a done deal and expected to be officially presented as new Sporting Director on Monday or Tuesday next week.
“Confirmed. Fernando Hierro and Chivas have reached an agreement and the Spaniard will be presented on Monday or Tuesday as Guadalajara’s new sports director”. As yet, there is no official news on the arrival of Hierro from the ‘Sacred Flock’.
Bordalas primed for Chivas bench?
According to Fox Sports journalist, Fernando Schwartz, the Liga MX club will come to a decision relating to the future of existing first team coach Ricardo Cadena his continuity at the Akron Stadium. One of the new names linked with the Chivas bench is that of Jose Bordalas who has experience in Spain’s LaLiga, managing the likes of Alaves, Getafe and Valencia.
