Inter Miami are on the brink of another Leagues Cup title, with Javier Mascherano’s team traveling to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seattle Sounders in Sunday night’s final.

The Sounders will have home advantage in one of the most intimidating home environments in Major League Soccer. Still, Miami will not be without support. Club owners arranged two private planes to bring fans to the game, ensuring that the team has a dedicated traveling section.

At least 150 Inter Miami supporters made the trip to Seattle and will be joined by the families of players and staff members. Nevertheless, they face a tough task against a well-supported and experienced Sounders team.

Seattle has lost only once since competing in the Club World Cup earlier this year, a defeat in Minnesota in which head coach Brian Schmetzer rotated heavily. At home, the Sounders remain one of the most consistent sides in the league.

The stage is set for a historic occasion. A crowd of more than 65,000 is expected at Lumen Field. That number would rank among the largest for any MLS match in 2025 and could approach the stadium’s all-time soccer attendance record.

Seattle’s benchmark was set during the 2019 MLS Cup, when 69,274 fans packed the stadium to watch the Sounders defeat Toronto and lift the championship trophy. Sunday’s final has the potential to come close, underlining the continued growth of MLS and the increasing profile of the Leagues Cup.

For Inter Miami, the chance to secure another trophy less than two years after Lionel Messi’s arrival reflects the rapid rise of the club. For Seattle, it represents an opportunity to add to their decorated history and reaffirm their status as one of the league’s most successful franchises.
