How Argentina’s players have performed since winning the World Cup

After lifting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the Argentina World Cup winners continue to perform.
A few days before the first anniversary of the World Cup success, we look back at the number of goals scored by each of La Albiceleste’s internationals since the triumph under Lionel Scaloni.
There has been a total of 183 goals scored across 23 players from the squad that travelled to Qatar, with forwards Lautaro Martínez, Lionel Messi and Julián Álvarez the top scorers.
Martínez leads the way with 35 goals for Inter Milan. In second place is Messi and Álvarez comes in third with 18 goals, as reported by Argentine outlet Olé.
Almada’s exploits
The top three are followed by fellow forwards Ángel Di María and Paulo Dybala with 15 goals apiece, while Thiago Almada (14) is just one strike behind.
Further down the table are Ángel Correa with nine goals, Alexis Mac Allister with eight for Liverpool, and Exequiel Palacios with seven, while Enzo Fernández and Nahuel Molina have six goals.
The list continues with three goals for defenders Marcos Acuña, Cristian Romero and Nicolás Otamendi. Leandro Paredes, Juan Foyth, Guido Rodríguez and Nicolás Tagliafico all have two goals, while Lisandro Martínez, Alejandro Gómez, Gonzalo Montiel, Rodrigo De Paul and German Pezzella have scored one each.
