How did Leo Messi vote in The Best FIFA awards?
The Argentine failed to secure another The Best award with Vinicius Jr. winning the men’s 2024 prize.
Leo Messi failed to add to his three The Best Awards at the FIFA ceremony in Doha on Tuesday evening with Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker Vinicius crowned for the first time after he helped ‘Los Blancos’ to both the LaLiga title and Champions League glory with a win over Dortmund in the final.
Messi was on the nominee shortlist and came in sixth place in the overall voting with just 25 points, however his role as Argentina captain saw the veteran striker play an important role in the voting.
The Inter Miami captain cast his votes with top billing going to Lamine Yamal in first place followed by Kylian Mbappé with his No.3 vote going to the ultimate winner Vinicius Jr.

After winning the last two editions of The Best Award, the Argentine is overseeing the generational shift as the Inter Miami striker and Cristiano Ronaldo end more than a decade of award ceremony dominance and stand aside as a younger generation including: Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappé, Lamine Yamal and Vinicius take centre stage.
