How Liverpool could replace Mohamed Salah
Liverpool have rejected substantial offers from Saudi Arabia for star man Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool are planning to break their transfer record fee on Bayern Munich and Germany winger Leroy Sané, report German outlet Bild.
Over the summer, Liverpool rejected substantial offers from Saudi Arabia for star man Mohamed Salah and the Premier League club could be approached once again in January over a move for the forward.
Liverpool forwards move to Saudi Pro League
Salah will not be a straightforward player to replace at Anfield, but Sané could be the man for Jürgen Klopp if and when the time comes to add to a forward line that has already lost Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané to the Saudi Pro League.
Klopp is believed to be a fan of the Germany international although there could also be competition from LaLiga clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona to secure his signature.
The 27-year-old’s current deal at Bayern runs out in the summer of 2025, a year after Euro 2024, where he is expected to feature for the host nation under national team manager Julian Nagelsmann.
Sané vs USMNT
Sané played in his country’s 3-1 win over the USMNT on October 14. He was replaced by Julian Brandt in the 71st minute of the friendly win, Nagelsmann’s first victory with Germany. Jaime Lozano’s Mexico are Germany’s next opponents, with the sides meeting on October 17.
