Kylian Mbappé has been ruled out of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League last-16 first leg against Bayern Munich on 14 February. The attacker suffered an injury to his left thigh against Montpellier on Wednesday, in a match in which he missed two penalties in the space of a minute and asked to be substituted in the 21st minute. Despite the injury to their star man and already being without Neymar due to his fitness issues, Christophe Galtier’s men ran out 3-1 winners and extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to five points.

How long will Kylian Mbappé be out for?

A day later, he underwent tests to determine the extent of his injury, with PSG confirming that the France international will be out of action for up to three weeks. With less than two weeks to go until the first leg of the Champions League knockout tie against Bayern at the Parc des Princes, the news of Mbappé's injury is a huge blow to the Parisian side.

When will Mbappé return to action for PSG?

A three-week absence means the World Cup Golden Boot winner is expected to miss at least four matches, which include the Ligue 1 fixtures at home to Toulouse (Saturday 4 February) and away to Monaco (Saturday 11 February), as well as the Couple of France ‘Classique’ against Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome (Wednesday 8 February). He is expected to sit out the European clash against the Bavarians but could return to action against Lille (Sunday 19 February) or in the league game in Marseille (Sunday 26 February).
