How long will USA captain Tyler Adams spend on the sidelines after surgery?
The 24-year-old picked up the injury during a training session ahead of Leeds’ win over Wolves.
USMNT and Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has undergone an operation on a hamstring injury he suffered before the international break, report The Athletic.
The news is a major blow for the Yorkshire club as it could rule Adams out of Leeds’ entire Premier League run-in under Spanish boss Javi Gracia.
Adams misses USA’s Concacaf Nations League matches
The 24-year-old picked up the injury during a training session ahead of Leeds’ win over Wolves on 18 March and didn’t travel to play in the USA’s Concacaf Nations League matches this month as he stayed in England to undergo the operation.
It now remains to be seen for how long Adams will be out of action. The midfielder has played 24 times for Leeds this season with Gracia’s men just two points above the relegation zone going into their final 11 matches of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign. They take on Arsenal in north London on Saturday.
