After yet another summer of speculation, it looks like Kylian Mbappé will be staying with Paris Saint-Germain.

It had looked like Mbappé, who is out of contract at the end of this season, would be forced out of PSG this summer to ensure that the French champions do not lose him for free next year. There was interest from all over Europe, and a massive €300 million ($332m) offer from the Saudi Pro League, for the 24-year-old.

Amid the speculation Mbappé was excluded form the team’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, but he was reintegrated with the first team squad in time to feature and score in last week’s draw with Toulouse.

While his long-term future is far from settled, Mbappé's talents dictate that it is impossible to keep him on the sidelines. Last year he became PSG’s all-time record goal scorer, surpassing the 200 goals struck by Edinson Cavani. After scoring the opener against Toulouse the Frenchman is now on 213 goals in 261 games for PSG.

With thanks to our friends at SofaScore, here’s the incredible numbers behind Mbappé's six years in the French capital...

Kylian Mbappé - Real Madrid transfer update

On Monday sources in Spain suggested that Real Madrid are still considering a huge offer for Mbappé later this summer. PSG’s Qatari owners are now thought to be demanding at least €250million ($273m) after positive talks with the player.

Mbappé has indicated that he is willing to sign a contract extension with the Parisians to prevent him leaving for free next summer. However any new deal would include a ‘fixed sale guarantee’ that would allow him to leave if an acceptable offer is made.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaïfi is expected to meet with Mbappé and his entourage later this week to confirm his future. The club will not countenance losing their star player for free and from January 2024 Mbappé will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside France.
