Sunday saw the departures of another two Premier League managers, taking the total number to 12 for the season.

After their sides suffered defeats in this weekend’s fixtures, Leicester City and Chelsea parted company with Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter respectively. Leicester find themselves mired in the relegation dogfight and Chelsea slipped to 11th, but their dismissals at this late stage in the campaign still came as a surprise to many.

Rodgers’ sacking means that half of all Premier League clubs have now changed their manager at least once this season. There have been 12 managerial changes recorded so far, comfortably beating the previous high of ten sackings seen in each of 2021/22, 2017/18, 2013/14 and 2008/09.

Southampton and Chelsea have both dismissed managers twice this season.

Which managers have been sacked in the Premier League?

There has been a consistent stream of managerial sackings throughout the season with a record number of Premier League bosses being shown the door. Since the start of the season there has been at least one dismissal every month with the exception of December, during which Premier League action was paused for the World Cup.

Here’s the full list of Premier League managers sacked so far in 2022/23…

Scott Parker, Bournemouth (30 August)

Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea (7 September)

Bruno Lage, Wolverhampton Wanderers (2 October)

Steven Gerrard, Aston Villa (20 October)

Ralph Hasenhuttl, Southampton (6 November)

Frank Lampard, Everton (23 January)

Jesse Marsch, Leeds United (6 February)

Nathan Jones, Southampton (12 February)

Patrick Vieira, Crystal Palace (17 March)

Antonio Conte, Tottenham Hotspur (26 March)

Brendan Rodgers, Leicester City (2 April)

Graham Potter, Chelsea (2 April)

Could there be more sackings this season? As we enter into the crucial run-in period it is unlikely that other clubs would make a change at this late stage. But with nine clubs still in fear of relegation some managers could be in danger.

West Ham United and Nottingham Forest, the only two sides in the bottom half yet to change their manager, are rumoured to have contemplated a change in recent months.
