PREMIER LEAGUE
How many Premier League teams has Manchester City striker Erling Haaland not scored against? Which ones?
Norwegian hitman Haaland found the net against a new victim on Sunday, scoring the opening goal against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
As seemed inevitable, Erling Haaland was amongst the goals for Manchester City on Sunday as they secured a late victory over newly-promoted Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Although he missed a first-half penalty, the Norwegian bounced back to opening the scoring after the hour-mark, while the Premier League champions needed a late goal from Rodri to secure all three points.
Manchester City continue perfect start to the Premier League season
Pep Guardiola wasn’t in attendance having recently undergone back surgery but his team recorded their third successive league victory since the start of the season and are the only side in the English top flight to still have a 100% record.
While Haaland finding the net is barely even newsworthy these days, his goal against the Blades extends his incredible run of scoring against different teams in the Premier League, which he only started playing in a little over 12 months ago.
Which Premier League teams has Haaland failed to score against?
The former Borussia Dortmund star, who bagged a record-breaking 36 league goals last season, has now netted against 18 of the 21 teams he has come up against in 38 games since the beginning of last season.
Haaland has only failed to score against Brentford, Chelsea and Liverpool, a feat that is made all the more impressive by the fact that two of the three Premier League matches he missed in 2022-23 were against The Bees and The Reds. City will play against Chelsea and Liverpool in back-to-back fixtures in November, although their scheduled home game against Brentford has been postponed because of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in December.
Will De Bruyne injury hamper Haaland and City?
The Norway international will clearly be the favourite to win the Premier League golden boot once again this season, especially after starting the new campaign with three goals in three matches. However, City will have to keep finding a way to provide him with service without chief playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, who is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
