Inter Miami will be hoping that 2024 sees the club adding some fresh silverware to the trophy cabinet after the Fort Lauderdale side bagged their first ever title with the summer Leagues Cup triumph after beating Nashville on penalties.

Next season will be a true acid test for Leo Messi and Inter Miami with the imminent arrival of Luis Suárez set to add to the Heron’s firepower.

Inter Miami will need to use their deep squad as for the first time ever in the club’s short history, they will participate in the continental Concacaf Champions Cup.

The number one priority for Tata Martino’s side will be a tilt at MLS Cup. Despite Messi’s arrival in the summer, a dreadful start to the 2023 campaign saw Miami cut adrift and despite a valiant late season push, the side failed to make the playoffs. A better showing in the domestic competition in 2024 will be essential for the club following the heavy investment in new talent.

Despite recent confusion over MLS sides participating in the 2024 US Open Cup, the Herons were beaten finalists last season falling at the final hurdle to the Houston Dynamo.

A push at the Concacaf Champions Cup is also on the line as a consequence of the Leagues Cup win. Miami get a bye through to Round of 16 stage and will face the winners of the first round clash between Nashville SC and Dominican Republic outfit Moca FC.

Inter Miami could also compete in the relaunch of the Inter-American Cup with Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol alluding to a competition emerging involving the possibility of the South American Libertadores champions facing the Concacaf equivalent.
