On the May 12 2023, it was announced that the Soccer Champions Tour would be taking place in the United States during the summer break in the European season, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester United all participating: 31 Champions Leagues trophies in total. There will be 8 matches held between the July 22 to August 2, eight games will take place in the US with the crown jewel being El Clásico, which will be held in Dallas, Texas.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will face each other on 29 July and while the kick-off time is yet to be finalised, we know that the AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys, will be where the action takes place. In total, the stadium can hold 80,000 visitors and it is looking like a sell-out, despite the simply mind-blowing ticket prices for the event. El Clásico is not just a game for Spain, it’s a game for the world.

How much are tickets for El Clásico in Dallas?

The cheapest tickets for the game start off at $222 which pays for a seat in the upper tiers of the stadium. The most expensive tickets, at the edge of the pitch opposite the managers’ technical areas, can cost up to the eye-watering amount of $3,478! Other tickets close to the touchline cost anywhere between $1,086 and $2,499.

What about Real Madrid’s other games in the US?

These hugely inflated ticket prices are not the same for the other games, something which highlights the draw that Spain’s top teams have for a global audience. If we stay in Texas for a moment, Real Madrid’s game vs Manchester United at NRG Stadium in Houston has tickets that are going for $330; against Juventus at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, the average price is around $280. However, if you want to do some top-level saving, the game against AC Milan on 22 July at the Rose Bowl, Pasadena, is available for a mere €195, making it the only Real Madrid game that drops below the $200 mark.

The game against AC Milan, Madrid’s first of the pre-season event, will be the place where both Jude Bellingham and Ilkay Gündogan can show off their skills in their new teams. The game, which will undoubtedly be marked by the potential debuts of both the 20-year-old and the 32-year-old central midfielders, will only be half a ‘friendly’, given how things spilled over into madness last summer on American soil. That time, it was Rüdiger and Araújo who clashed and got people off their seats.

FC Barcelona

How much were tickets for last year’s Clásico?

Sticking with last summer, ticket prices for that game floated at the $300 mark, almost half of what they are going for this time around. Dallas, like the game in Sin City, is expected to go crazy for the game and the mathematics could be done by a chimp with a calculator: 80,000 seats at an average of $550 is a total income of $44,000,000 on ticket entry alone. Yes, there will be expenses for those hosting the event, but also huge sales of food, drinks and merchandise, which answers the question as to whether or not we will see more Clásicos in the future across the US: yes!

The game will also be an opportunity for both Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez, and FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, to meet with Sixth Street, the company that has organised the Soccer Champions Tour, and Legends, the organisation that deals with making the premuim experience as lucrative as possible. Both clubs have a relationship with the two businesses, as they have helped with the profitability of both the new Santiago Bernabéu and Camp Nou.
