The 22-year-old player was one of USMNT’s best players during the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Olympique Lyon continues to take advantage of this summer transfer market to the fullest. With nine additions to the squad, the team considered that the midfield still needed to be strengthened, and they found the best option in North American player, Tanner Tessmann.
Lyon and Venezia agreed to a $6.7 million transfer fee at the beginning of the week; only the medical tests remained before the French club’s official announcement. The wait did not take long, and today, Lyon announced the transfer of Tessmann, who signed a five-year deal until 2029.
After his outstanding season with Venezia in Italy’s second division, Tenessmann was on the radar of several European teams, such as Fiorentina, Roma, Ipswich, Brighton, and Feyenoord, being considered one of the most promising North American players.
