A major title is at stake along with a handsome financial windfall with each edition of the new format staged in Saudi Arabia generating coverage for the prize money on the table.

The first ’Final Four' format in 2020 saw economic distribution being based on on both sporting criteria (titles won) and the cachet of the teams that competed in the tournament.

To calculate this fee, television rights and television audiences are taken into account. In the first edition, Valencia complained after they saw a notable difference in income between the 2.5 million euro the club received and the 6 million Barcelona pocketed or the nearly twelve million Real Madrid eventually banked from winning the Super Cup.

Super Cup cash bonanza

For the 2025 Super Cup (as with previous editions), Saudi Arabia pays the Spanish FA 40 million euro who in turn pay-out the prize money to the participants.

50% of the Saudi money goes directly to the coffers of the RFEF (Spanish FA), with the other 20 distributed among the four teams. In this edition, Real Madrid and Barcelona will take earn roughly six million euro a-piece each with three million heading to Athletic with Real Mallorca set to pick-up 1.5 million.

These sums are the participating starting sums with both finalists earning an additional million with the winners bagging an additional two million.
