How much do tickets for the World Cup Final between Argentina and France cost?
Game 64 of the 2022 Qatar World Cup goes ahead on Sunday as Argentina face France for the World Cup title in Lusail.
The last of the World Cups with 32 teams comes to a close on Sunday as Argentina face France in the final at the 85,000 capacity Lusail Stadium.
Both nations have won the competition twice in the past with the South American side anxious to add to their 1978 and 1986 wins and celebrate Leo Messi’s last appearance on the World Cup stage in the sky blue and white stripes.
Meanwhile reigning holders France will be looking to add a third star to the famous blue shirt after their win in 1998 and in Moscow in July 2018.
The game is set to secure one of the biggest television audiences ever recorded as all eyes on Sunday will be transfixed on the action in Lusail.
Sourcing a ticket for the final
The face value for the most expensive general public ticket was $1,600 (centrally played Category 1) but those tickets are long sold out. The cheapest advertised tickets via the Fifa ticket portal were published at costing 750 Qatari Riyals which equates to just over $200 but again, those tickets were reserved for Qatar nationals and are totally sold out with no games for the final appearing recently on the official ticketing platform.
Faced with this sold-out situation, what can the anxious fan do in terms of getting a ticket for the biggest soccer game in years?
Ther secondary ticketing market is the obvious outlet with the likes of Viagogo still offering a wide range of tickets for the Lusail final. For the deep pocketed fan who is keen to be close to the action, a central pitchside Category 1 match ticket will set you back approximately $33,000. For the more ‘budget’ conscious supporter anxious to see Messi and Mbappé at close quarters, the cheapest ticket currently available via the resale platforms clocks in at just over $3,000 for a Category 4 seat.
