How much prize money do the Women’s Champions League winners earn?
Barcelona and Wolfsburg face off in today’s 2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League final at Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.
Today’s Women’s Champions League final between Barcelona and Wolfsburg will feature a game-day prize pot of just over €500,000, with the winners of the showpiece event banking a season total of nearly €1.4 million.
These amounts come as part of a €24 million overall prize fund introduced in the Women’s Champions League at the start of the 2021/22 season.
The fund not only includes performance-based amounts for the competition’s participating clubs, but also ‘solidarity payments’ allocated to the teams’ domestic leagues. The latter payments account for around €5.6 million, UEFA has said.
Women’s Champions League prize money: how it breaks down
As part of the Women’s Champions League’s prize-money structure, all 16 clubs that reach the group stage receive a minimum of €400,000. This is topped up by bonuses of €50,000 for every first-round win, and €17,000 for every draw.
The eight clubs that reach the quarter-finals then pocket €160,000 each, with every group winner also receiving a further €20,000.
After the last eight, €180,000 is paid to every club that reaches the semi-finals. In the final, the runners-up receive €200,000, while the tournament winners bank €350,000.
How much would Barça, Wolfsburg earn for winning UWCL?
Given that Barça dropped points just once on their way to winning Group D - a defeat to Bayern Munich - the Blaugrana will net on overall sum of €1.36m if they beat Wolfsburg in Eindhoven.
The Germans, meanwhile, topped their section by winning four and drawing two in the group stage, so final victory over Barça would take their season earnings to €1.344m.

2021 winners Barça are seeking to avenge last year’s final defeat to Lyon and secure the second Champions League title in their history. Wolfsburg will be bidding for their third European crown, having previously lifted the trophy in 2013 and 2014.
