How Real Madrid made jersey sales history in 2025
Madrid became the first soccer club to sell more than 3 million jerseys in a single year, redefining global fandom.

As the year winds down, soccer clubs around the world start taking stock. One of the most closely watched barometers of global appeal is jersey sales, and in 2025, Real Madrid has done something no club had ever done before. According to a new study by Euromericas Sport Marketing, the Spanish giants have shattered every previous record to become the world’s best-selling soccer club by a wide margin.
A record-breaking year for Los Blancos
Over the last 12 months, with figures finalized in November, Real Madrid sold a staggering 3,133,000 jerseys worldwide. It marks the first time any soccer club has crossed the three-million threshold, a milestone that underscores Madrid’s unmatched global reach.

Barcelona finished second with 2,940,000 jerseys sold, while Paris Saint-Germain rounded out the top three at 2,546,000. The eternal rivalry between Madrid and Barça extends beyond the pitch, but this latest Clásico was won comfortably by Real Madrid.
The world’s best-selling soccer jerseys
The study also revealed the 10 clubs with the highest jersey sales in 2025. Bayern Munich, Inter Miami, Boca Juniors, Manchester United, Flamengo, Chelsea and Al Nassr complete the list.
Europe dominates with six clubs in the top 10, South America places two, the United States claims one through Inter Miami, and Saudi Arabia rounds it out with Al Nassr. The data highlights how elite brands, star power and emerging markets continue to reshape the global soccer economy.
Which player sold the most jerseys in 2025?
The report goes beyond clubs and dives into individual player sales, where the surprise leader comes from Barcelona. Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal tops the list with 1,320,000 jerseys sold worldwide.
Lionel Messi follows closely with 1,280,000, while Robert Lewandowski ranks third at 1,110,000. Yamal’s rise reflects both his breakout performances and Barcelona’s enduring pull among younger fans.
Real Madrid’s depth, not one sole superstar
One detail stands out. Real Madrid does not have a single player among the top three best-selling jerseys. Yet it is the only club with three players inside the top 10.
Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo all make the list, alongside Giorgian De Arrascaeta, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Harry Kane. The contrast is striking. Real Madrid reigns supreme as a club brand, while Lamine Yamal claims the individual crown.
In 2025, jersey sales tell a clear story. Real Madrid is the undisputed king of the global market, and a new generation of stars is already redefining who fans choose to wear on their backs.
