In Germany, Bild report that Bayern Munich forward Sadio Mané - the big signing of the summer transfer window - contributed to the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann, which took place on Thursday.

According to the German media outlet, Mané was reportedly furious in front of the Bayern dressing room, criticising Nagelsmann for only playing him for eight minutes in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 match against PSG.

The report adds that the rest of the Bayern players were in the dressing room when they realised that Nagelsmann had been intimidated by Mané's outburst and felt embarrassed in front of his own group of players.

The players interpreted it as a loss of authority, especially when he included the former Liverpool man in his starting eleven for the next league game against Augsburg, a decision that, in the players’ view, was a direct consequence of the forward’s outburst of rage.

Bild suggest that what happened between Nagelsmann and Mané was the trigger for the 35-year-old’s sacking, as those in charge at the Allianz Arena wanted to avoid more rifts between staff.

Tuchel takes over

Thomas Tuchel has since been appointed as head coach of the Bundesliga giants, with both CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic aiming to avoid further altercations between coaches and players. “The relationship between the team and the coach was no longer working,” Salihamidzic said after the dismissal of Nagelsmann, who lost part of a dressing room full of big names.
