“I have something special with the Champions League” -Rodrygo

Rodrygo’s two goals in Real Madrid’s second leg Champions League match with Chelsea sealed their victory and ticket to the semifinals.

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is having his best season so far with the club. The 22-year-old’s good fortune continued last night when he scored two goals to seal Madrid’s victory in their quarterfinals Champions League tie with Chelsea. His brace sealed a 2-0 win for Los Blancos in the second leg, sending them easily to the semifinals, where they’ll face either Manchester City or Bayern Munich.

Rodrygo’s incredible season

The Brazilian player has accomplished a lot this season, especially when compared to his previous campaigns. This season, Rodrygo has scored 13 goals in 46 games compared to 11 goals in 82 games in his previous two seasons combined.

“I always say, I have something special with the Champions,” said Rodrygo after the match. “I want to keep going. Of course, I also want to score more goals in La Liga, but I watched the last game and I played really well, but the goals didn’t come. Today, two goals came. I want to keep scoring in the Champions.”

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti noted that Rodrygo has contributed a lot to the team’s success even without goals, saying that this game was not even his best, but “his effectiveness was extraordinary.”

“This season, I have more goals and am playing more than ever,” he continued. “It might be my best moment, but I want to do a lot more.”
