Imperious Barcelona Femeni secure fourth consecutive league title

FC Barcelona Femeni are the first champions of the newly christened Finetwork Liga F. The azulgranas lifted their fourth consecutive league title, eight now in total after winning the regular competition thanks to their 3-0 victory at Johan Cruyff against Sporting Huelva. The azulgranas wrapped up the title finished off the league unbeaten and did it with Alexia Putellas back on the pitch for the first time since her ACL injury in July 2022.

Barça remain the elite club in Spain in women’s football and despite not being able to compete for a treble after they fielded an ineligible player in the Copa de la Reina which led to their disqualification, Jonatan Giráldez’s side also have their sights set on the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Catalan side tied 1-1 with Chelsea at a packed Camp Nou last week and will face Wolfsburg/Arsenal in the June final in Eindhoven.
