Inter Miami confirms interest in Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets
The head coach of the Major League Soccer side, Phil Neville, said that they want to sign the two players on a free transfer this summer.
Major League Soccer has become one of the fastest-growing leagues in the world and many players are keen on coming to the United States to continue their playing career. Last year MLS was able to complete the blockbuster signings of Lorenzo Insigne (TFC), Federico Bernardeschi (TFC), Gareth Bale (LAFC), Giorgio Chiellini (LAFC) and Hector Herrera (Dynamo).
Inter Miami is aiming high
In order for the league to keep expanding and to become one of the best in the world, they need more “superstars” in their prime. So Inter Miami is now trying to make some big moves during the summer transfer window and they have their eyes set on bringing over Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets, who will become a free agent at the end of their respective seasons.
“We want to bring the best players in the world to this football club,” said Phil Neville to The Times. “Messi and Busquets are the two that stand out more in recent years. They’re great players who would still be a massive benefit to this organization. For MLS, it would be a game-changer.”
“Since I joined Miami, I think we’ve been linked with every single top player in world football. From Sergio Ramos, Dani Alves, Robert Lewandowski, Willian, Cesc Fabregas, Luis Suárez… all of them can rattle off. We’re always going to be linked with the best players in the world. We had Gonzalo Higuaín and Blaise Matuidi. Now we’ve got the opportunity to bring in some new designated players following their retirements,” he concluded.
