Inter Miami legends preparing to say goodbye in must-win MLS clash
Sunday’s Eastern Conference semifinal could be the final professional for Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, while Luis Suárez’ future is also up in the air.

Inter Miami is preparing for the most important match in team history, one that could mark a turning point for the Fort Lauderdale club. A win would see them play in their first-ever Conference Final and bring them ever closer to the MLS Cup title they so desperately crave.
However, there is also the possibility of the other side of the coin for Inter Miami, because if they are eliminated against Cincinnati it will be the end of an era. In recent weeks both Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets have announced their intention to retire at the end of the season, as soon as the postseason journey comes to an end.

Will Luis Suárez continue with Inter Miami?
Another player who could possibly play his last game with Miami if they lose tonight against Cincinnati is Luis Suárez, whose future is currently uncertain.
His contract expires at the end of this season and he is one of the players who could leave the team. In recent months he has struggled with niggling injuries and is not the player who scored 20 MLS goals in 2024.
However, there is also the possibility that Suárez will decide to stay for another year, potentially playing as more of an impact force than a guaranteed starter.
The Cincinnati game could also be the final Inter Miami outing for Tadeo Allende, Fafa Picault, Allen Obando and Rocco Rios Novo, most of whom are on loan or whose original contracts are expiring. The Miami hierarchy may have some big decisions to make this offseason.
