Inter Miami announced the move on Saturday with a video featuring Messi, who has joined the third club of his exceptional career.
The 36-year-old has signed a contract with the North American club until the end of the 2025 MLS season.

“I’m very excited to start this next step in my career with Inter Miami and in the United States,” the World Cup winner said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity and together we will continue to build this beautiful project.
“The idea is to work together to achieve the objectives we set, and I’m very eager to start helping here in my new home.”
Martino and Messi
Messi is now set to team up with head coach Tata Martino in Miami, with the pair planning on changing the club’s fortunes going forward after the sacking of former boss Phil Neville.
When is Messi’s Inter Miami presentation?
Messi will be unveiled at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday 16 July.
His presentation is expected to get started at 8pm (ET) / 5pm (PT).
Messi debut
Messi’s Inter Miami debut is set to take place on Friday 21 July in Fort Lauderdale against Mexican outfit Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
“Messi will be available to play for Inter Miami CF for the first time when the team takes on Cruz Azul of LIGA MX on 21 July in the opening match of the Leagues Cup,” the Florida club said in an official statement.
