It is no secret that Lionel Messi likes the Miami lifestyle and that David Beckham has been talking to the Argentine star for years about playing in Major League Soccer. Neither side have denied such conversations in the past but on Tuesday morning it seemed that MLS fans will be able to see Messi sooner rather than later.

Messi could join Inter Miami in August

The 34-year-old arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2021 and signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 side with an option for a further year. Messi could therefore become a free agent at the end of the 2022/23 campaign and the Argentine has been vocal about maybe venturing into MLS at some point in his prolific career.

Early on Tuesday, a report from Directv Sports Argentina claimed that the PSG ace had reached a deal to acquire 35 percent of Inter Miami CF and join the MLS side in the summer of 2023, for the second part of the season.

The news went viral in the early hours and later two high-ranking Inter Miami officials spoke to the Miami Herald to deny the information about having reached an agreement with Messi. Also, the player’s agents spoke to Le Parisien and said it was “completely false” and added that “Leo has not yet decided on his future.”
