Inter Miami planning November friendlies in China and Japan
With the team missing out on the MLS playoffs, the Herons are looking to travel to Asia for a series of friendlies next month.
Despite still having two MLS regular season games left to play, the 2023 campaign has practically come to an end for Inter Miami due to last weekend’s loss against Cincinnati with the home defeat representing an end to any mathematical possibility of qualifying for the playoffs.
Inter Miami now face Charlotte twice (home and away) before the curtain officially comes down on a historic season for the Miami based club.
The games will still generate plenty of interest however as Charlotte are still in with an outside chance of clinching a wild-card place and with Lionel Messi set to participate at some level with the Argentine now recovered from injury. The striker is currently back with the Albiceleste as they face Paraguay and Peru in 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Messi will then return to Fort Lauderdale where he will begin preparation for for the final season games.

According to reports from journalist Gastón Edul, Inter Miami will travel to Asia for a tour of friendly matches after failing to qualify for the playoffs of the 2023 MLS season.
The opponents have not yet been confirmed, however the TyC Sports journalist assures that the Inter Miami clashes will take place in the first week of November, once the MLS regular season has ended and prior to the FIFA window in November.
The Herons are expected to announce further details ahead of the tour imminently as thoughts for the MLS side turn to closing the year and begin to prepare for the 2024 season of Major League Soccer.
