Inter Miami reveal opening date for new Miami Freedom Park stadium
The Florida based MLS side officially announced details relating to the opening of the new stadium complex which will see the team play in downtown Miami.
Inter Miami continue move forward with the club’s goal and dream of becoming a benchmark institution in American soccer. Having made significant strides in the sporting department acquiring the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, in 2023 the team secured their first silverware by winning the Leagues Cup and at present Tata Martino’s men top the Eastern Conference standings and are firm favourites to secure the MLS supporters Shield.
Since their inception in 2018 and first MLS games in 2020, the club have played their games in neighbouring Fort Lauderdale (roughly 30 miles north of Miami) but have finally announced plans to move to downtown Miami with the creation of Miami Freedom Park, with the name of the stadium coming from the club motto ‘Freedom to Dream’.
Located adjacent to Miami International Airport, at the site of the former Melreese Golf Course, the 26,700-seat stadium will be the centerpiece of a 131-acre development that will include a 58-acre public park, playing fields, entertainment-based retail and attractions along with restaurants and hotels.
The club statement specified that Miami Freedom Park is scheduled to open in 2026 with the club even opening up pre-sale season tickets for the ‘26 MLS season.

Regarding the opening of this new stadium, the team’s co-owner, Jorge Mas, expressed his joy and confirmed his commitment to ensuring that fans will take great joy in this building with the sporting successes that Inter Miami aims for in the future.
