Inter Miami sell out of season tickets for Messi’s first full MLS campaign
Amid Messi-mania at DRV PNK Stadium, Herons fans have pounced on Inter Miami season tickets for the 2024 regular season.
Fuelled by the team’s upturn in fortunes following Lionel Messi’s summer arrival, Inter Miami fans have wasted no time in snapping up seats to watch the Herons in the 2024 Major League Soccer campaign.
On Thursday, Miami confirmed that they have sold out of season tickets for the side’s regular-season games at their DRV PNK Stadium.
Inter Miami pre-sale tickets still available
The franchise added that supporters who have missed out on year-long MLS passes are still in time to buy pre-sale tickets for individual home matches.
“Beginning today, fans will have the opportunity to sign up to purchase the remaining single-match tickets to catch a game during the 2024 MLS regular season while supplies last,” Miami said.
The team’s schedule will be released “in the coming weeks”, the franchise added.
The 2024 MLS season is expected to kick off in late February or early March.
Messi effect sees Miami tipped for MLS title
Inter Miami will head into the new campaign looking to return to the playoffs, having finished nine points outside the Eastern Conference’s postseason spots in the 2023 regular season.
Despite coming 14th out of 15 teams in the East, however, Miami are among the favourites for the 2024 championship, having been transformed by the recruitment of Messi - and fellow Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets - in July.
Bottom of their conference when the World Cup winner joined, Miami lost just one of their first eight MLS games following his signing, and looked on course to mount a late challenge for a playoff place until the forward was sidelined by injury.
Before making his MLS debut, moreover, Messi inspired Gerardo Martino’s men to victory in the 2023 Leagues Cup - the franchise’s first ever silverware - and helped the Floridians to reach the final of the US Open Cup.
Ahead of the new season, Miami are expected to bolster their striker force by signing another ex-Barça star, Luis Suárez, on a free transfer.
