Inter Miami under pressure to improve ahead of new MLS season
Inter Miami suffered another defeat in preseason on Thursday, with Al-Nassr thrashing the Florida club 6-0.
Inter Miami’s 6-0 hammering to Al-Nassr on Thursday saw the MLS club suffer their third defeat in four preseason games. Tata Martino’s side have struggled to get going since the start of the new year and still have plenty of work to do on the training ground before the new MLS campaign gets underway later this month.
Defence a priority again
After failing to score on American soil in preseason, they moved on to Saudi Arabia and have struggled massively to date, with two defeats and 10 goals conceded in just 180 minutes of action.
The coaching staff at the club will now be working on correcting those errors ahead of the start of the 2024 campaign Stateside. The Florida side start their MLS season on 22 February and have just three games to experiment and improve before then.
Since the arrival of Lionel Messi and Co., Miami have continued to concede too easily, while in attack they are more than capable with the likes of Messi and new signing Luis Suárez. With players like Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and DeAndre Yedlin being great alternatives to dominate games, Martino and his staff must find a balance in their system out of possession and strengthen their leaky backline.
