Inter Miami’s first confirmed departures for the 2026 MLS season

Inter Miami is wasting no time. Just days after being crowned champions of the 2025 MLS Cup, the Fort Lauderdale side has already begun preparing for next season, where one of the main objectives will be the CONCACAF Champions Cup along with defending their Major League Soccer title.

As part of those preparations, the club announced its first moves, confirming several departures and identifying the players who have secured their place in Javier Mascherano’s squad for next year.

Inter Miami confirmed that the players who will not return next season, with their contracts now expired, are: Fafa Picault, William Yarbrough, Ryan Sailor and Argentine full-back Marcelo Weigandt.

Among the players whose futures remain undecided, Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez stands out. He is currently in talks with Inter Miami over a possible contract extension that could see him stay for another season.

Alongside Suárez, the club is also negotiating with Allen Obando, Rocco Ríos Novo, Baltasar Rodríguez and Tadeo Allende regarding their continued presence in the squad.

Another notable case is that of Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul. The club has exercised its option to buy the World Cup winner, who will occupy a Designated Player slot from the 2026 season onwards.

Finally, Inter Miami announced that Lionel Messi, Noah Allen, Tomás Avilés, Israel Boatwright, Yannick Bright, Maxi Falcón, Ian Fray, Tyler Hall, Gonzalo Luján, Santi Morales, David Ruiz, Mateo Silvetti, Telasco Segovia and Óscar Ustari all have guaranteed contracts for the 2026 campaign.
