International soccer schedule: matches today, 26 September - times and how to watch on TV
Gareth Southgate’s men take on Germany in their last competitive outing before this winter’s 2022 World Cup.
UEFA Nations League football returns to our screens today. We take a look at the group fixtures on Monday 26 September.
League A: Group 3
Hungary need at least a draw to win the group and advance to the finals stage. Marco Rossi’s side welcome Italy to the Puskas Arena for their sixth and final Group A3 game. A win for the Italians would see them overtake Hungary to win the group on the final day.
Group strugglers England will play the next edition of the Nations League in tier B after losing 1-0 against Italy in Milan on Friday. On Monday, Gareth Southgate’s men take on Germany at Wembley in what will be their last competitive outing before this winter’s 2022 World Cup. Germany will finish second in the group if they can record a victory in London and Italy lose in Budapest.
League B: Group 3
Montenegro will face Finland with both sides still capable of clinching second place in the group. Group winners Bosnia and Herzegovina travel to face bottom of the table Romania in Bucharest.
Tonight’s other game sees teams in League C and D go head to head. In League C, Gibraltar host Georgia, while North Macedonia take on Bulgaria. Georgia are six points clear at the top of the group on 13 points. North Macedonia are in second place with seven points, while Bulgaria have six and Gibraltar sit bottom with just one point from their five games.
In League D, San Marino, who have failed to pick up any points thus far, host leaders Estonia in the three-team Group D2.
