Ireland are preparing for this summer’s World Cup with two friendlies against the United States Women’s National Team.

Saturday’s meeting will be the 14th between the two nations, with the USWNT unbeaten in their previous thirteen clashes against the girls in green. Their goal difference against Ireland stands at +47 (48-1).

Ireland are currently ranked 23rd in the world are will be making their World Cup debut this year.

Pauw includes new faces

Ireland boss Vera Pauw has named a 27-player squad for the upcoming friendlies against the world champions, with three new faces included for the first time.

Sophie Whitehouse, Tara O’Hanlon and Alannah McEvoy all come into the squad and could make their debuts.

Megan Campbell, Niamh Fahey, Chloe Mustaki and Jessica Ziu are all missing from the latest squad.
