With the departure of Guillermo Ochoa to Serie A, the rumors began about a possible signing of Navas for the Americanista team, but it all remained that way and there were no negotiation to come to the Liga MX. In the end, the Coapa side ended up opting to give Óscar Jiménez the opportunity and Luis Malagón is currently the starter in the Fernando el ‘Tano’ Ortiz scheme.

Navas emerged from the youth team of Saprissa and under the administration of businessman Jorge Vergara established himself in the first team. In 2005, the Central American goalkeeper won the Concacaf Champions League after defeating the Pumas of UNAM in the final. Subsequently, he has worn the shirts of Albacete, Levante, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and is currently a member of Nottingham Forest. A very decent career that may have another step still to be taken.
