Jamie Carragher praises Mohamed Salah calling him one Liverpool’s greatest ever
Mohamed Salah announced that he’ll be leaving Liverpool at season’s end, and Jamie Carragher did not hesitate in calling the Salah one of the GOATs.

Mohamed Salah announced he is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, and his farewell tour has started. Rightfully so, many legends of the sport have tipped their cap to the Egyptian, and Jamie Carragher was the latest to do so.
Salah a Liverpool GOAT says Carra
Carragher spent 17 years at the club and is a bonafide legend in Liverpool, but he was quick to point out that Salah is one of the greatest to ever represent the Reds. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the former center back said that Salah defied all odds when he arrived at Anfield. “Salah has been an exceptional player from the start; no one expected him to reach such a high level with Liverpool.”
Salah had bounced around Europe after leaving his native Egypt, starting in Basel and then attracting the attention of Chelsea only to be loaned out to Fiorentina and Roma. Liverpool took a chance on Salah, and quickly became the undisputed winger on the right side for Liverpool.

In his eight years with Liverpool time he won Carragher says he has become “one of the greatest players ever to wear the club’s shirt. He has spent nine full seasons here, and the real secret behind his success lies in his consistently stunning performances over the years.”
Life without Salah
Salah is currently fourth all time in Premier League goals, trailing Alan Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213) and Wayne Rooney (208). He has cemented himself not only as one of the best Liverpool players in club history, but one of the league’s best, but Carragher admits that it’s his durability which has made him stand out in his time in Mercyside. “What impresses me about him is that he plays in every match week in, week out, without tiring. I feel immense pride when I look at his career; luck may play a part in avoiding injuries, but his constant desire to be there and play is what truly sets him apart.”

Salah has a chance at one more title in a Liverpool shirt after the Reds crashed out of the FA Cup over the weekend. Sitting in fifth place in the league, there is no chance of a second straight Premier League title, but they are still alive in the Champions League with a quarterfinal tie against PSG over the next couple of weeks.
After this season, there will be a massive hold to fill on the right side of the pitch, and Carragher knows it won’t be easy to fill the shoes of the Egyptian. “Perhaps we need a different kind of right-winger, one who focuses more on creating chances, and I don’t think Liverpool need to sign a big-name, expensive star to replace him.”
