Javier “Chicharito” Hernández confirms intended Chivas return on Twitch: what did he say?
The former Real Madrid, Manchester United and LA Galaxy striker’s agent will be in Guadalajara to discuss terms this week.
Javier “Chicharito” Hernández could be on the verge of a sensational return to the team where he started his career, Chivas. Last week, his friend Sergio Dipp stated the striker would be signing for Guadalajara in Liga MX, with the player himself breaking his silence on the claims during a live stream on his Twitch channel. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United man’s move “home” could be finalised this week.
“I really want to return to Chivas, this week my agent will be in Guadalajara, both parties are making a big effort to get the deal done, although nothing is certain yet. I have offers from other clubs, but my priority is to return to Chivas. I hope a deal can be done as soon as possible,” Hernández said.
Talks with Fernando Hierro and Amaury Vergara
“We have spoken with (Chivas sporting director) Fernando Hierro and (club president) Amaury Vergara. I am very excited. Hopefully, this can happen. There is nothing official yet, and there are many people pushing for it to happen. I really want to go, the management really wants me to go, but we still have to get it done, get everything signed. Deals sometimes fall apart at the last minute because agreements aren’t reached. There is still a lot of uncertainty,” said the 35-year-old, who left MLS side LA Galaxy at the start of November last year.
Ex-Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago appointed Chivas coach
“Excited? How could I not be excited about returning to the team that gave me everything, that helped make me as a player and gave me the opportunity to go to Europe? And with such an ambitious sporting project led by Fernando (Hierro), as well as Fernando Gago coming in as the coach, we know all about his past as a player and also as a coach in Argentina. I think it all looks really good,” Chicharito enthused.
ACL injury recovery
“I feel better and better all the time. There are still a few weeks to go until I’m at 100%. I don’t want to rush anything because if I do, there is a bigger risk of a relapse or getting other injuries. No, we are respecting the recovery process, which we are doing in the best way possible,” he added.
